There is now a screen recorder in Flipgrid. Perfect for Remote Learning

April 23, 2020

As a great way for teachers and students to harness social learning, Flipgrid has become even more popular in the age of unexpected mass remote learning.

I have been grateful for many companies during this time. Making unexpected changes, adding new features and handling a large swell of support requests during all hours of the day.

One of the many things Flipgrid has done recently is to not only raise the maximum video recording time to 10 minutes, but they also added a screen recorder allowing students and teachers to record not just their entire computer screen, but, also a specific app or tab all with an optional picture in picture.

The end result could be kept within Flipgrid or educators can instantly share these screen recordings via download, embed, Microsoft Teams, Google Classroom and Remind. Teachers could also toggle on the option to allow students to downloard the video the student themselves created as well.

Screen Recording now becomes part of a very powerful video recorder that I often surprise people with when I am presenting. So, while the video below is 9 minutes long, it includes an overview of some of my favorite features in the video recorder and then provides a thorough overview of the new Screen Recorder.
